Takes Oath Of Office
Democrat Steve Goss took his oath to serve the
45th North Carolina Senate District in the place
where he grew up and pledged to represent it
in the General Assembly.

regarding a planned 50-mile yard sale starting in Laurel

Cullie Tarleton will be sworn in for the NC State
House Saturday, Jan. 13th, at the new
administration building in Boone at 11 a.m.

Gov. Mike Easley announced January 8th that six North Carolina
universities are ranked in the top 100 by Kiplingers
Personal Finance as the Best Values among the
nations public colleges and universities.
Two Charged With Forgery
Two Jefferson residents have each been charged with numerous
counts of forgery, according to Sheriff James Williams of
the Ashe County Sheriffs Department.
