Goss Takes Oath Of Office
Democrat Steve Goss took his oath to serve the
45th North Carolina Senate District in the place
where he grew up and pledged to represent it
in the General Assembly.


Ashe Outreach Ministries Plans Highway Yard Sale
Representatives from Ashe Outreach Ministries (AOM) of Warrensville presented information to the Ashe County Board of Commissioners regarding a planned 50-mile yard sale starting in Laurel Springs and ending in Trade, Tenn.

Gov. Mike Easley announced January 8th that six North Carolina universities are ranked in the top 100 by Kiplinger’s Personal Finance as the “Best Values” among the nation’s public colleges and universities.


Two Charged With Forgery
Two Jefferson residents have each been charged with numerous counts of forgery, according to Sheriff James Williams of the Ashe County Sheriff’s Department.
