West Jefferson To Vote On ABC Store
Residents of West Jefferson will have their chance to voice their opinion on whether or not West Jefferson should have an ABC store and sale of liquor by the drink.

Former Tax Office Employee Charged With Embezzlement
A former employee of the Ashe County Tax Office is facing charges in Ashe County District Court relating to the allegdged embezzlement of $30,150.45 from the Tax Office, according to Detective William Sands of the Ashe County Sheriff's Office.

Low Income Energy Assistance Program Begins Nov. 6th
Applications for a once per year fuel assistance check will be taken at the Ashe County Department of Social Services (in the new County Courthouse in Jefferson) beginning Nov. 6 through Nov. 17 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
