Howell Named New Principal For ACHS
Phil Howell of Laurel Springs has been named the new principal of Ashe County High School following the retirement of current principal Bradley McNeill, who has been the principal since the school opened. Howell will the principal for the upcoming school year, ’05-’06.

New Program Comenzando Bien Receives Grant
The March of Dimes North Carolina Chapter has awarded a grant to Ashe Memorial Hospital to support “Comenzando Bien”, a program that is aimed at underserved maternal and child health needs here in Ashe and surrounding counties. The program is a culturally appropriate prenatal education curriculum for Latino Families.

Ashe County Middle School Students Take A Bite Out Of Science
Ashe County Middle School participated in the Science Olympiad program for the first time in the school’s history and brought eight first place medals home along with several other medals as well.
